Voidceremony - Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel

Man this is a nifty one, spiraling and intense death metal that seems to only get more evil with time! Voidceremony are masters of their craft with a sound that will turn your head over and leave you gasping for air. There is a lot to sink your teeth into with this latest offering from 20 Buck Spin. Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel captures the imagination because of its off kilter progressive death metal approach which seems to continually hint at strange new vistasts to unlock.

Seven years in the making, Voidceremony have found a perfect balance between old and new. While the fretless bass lines and jazz spirals seem almost like a growth of Rivers of Nihil, at times the production and songwriting is much more reminiscent of Atheist. Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel, brings a whole mess of ideas into the music though and picking through them will take even the dedicated listener quite a bit of time. That's part of the beauty of this record though. It is worth the countless replays and it will keep giving devout listeners more wonderful death metal madness to pick apart.

Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel is not afraid to beat you over the head with volume and pure hatred. The squirrelly guitar playing is never flashy for the sake of being flashy. The bass routinely shines as a highlight pointing towards bolder futures. In brief, this is a record that feels progressive and technical but is never obnoxious. Never lost up its own ass but instead endlessly interesting Voidceremony continually point towards the bold promise of death metals future reminding us the best is yet to come.
