Foul And Defiled is heavy in a way few of the bands peers can match. The sense of pain and torment they convey is only bested by the sheer level of volume. This is a band who are barely a step away from Sunn0))), which allows them to craft something distinctly more coherent. The end result is a record that is mesmerizing and powerful, one that you can get lost in and which routinely goes above and beyond in dragging listeners into the pit. Coffin Lurker prove here that they are crushers of the sort that come around but rarely. As the haunting and colossal melody of a track like 'Sacrificial Chalice' proves, Coffin Lurker are a unique brand of devastating.
Coffin Lurker are a terrifying band to hear unfold upon your eardrums. They are the type of heavy that legitimately upsets some people.
