I've always been thrilled by the death metal coming out of Southeast Asia and Reincarnated are no exception. These Thai death metal bludgeoners are thrilling in their execution and demand listeners bend the knee in honor of a truly great band. It's a delight to really immerse yourself in the skull crushing magic of what the band has done. Their brand new record, Of Boötes Void Death Spell is their second full length and it's glorious. While never attempting to reinvent the steel, Reincarnated give a lesson in violence you won't soon forget.
Of Boötes Void Death Spell is skull cracking death metal for fans of death metal by fans of death metal, no ifs ands or buts. This is the sort of basement dwelling filth that captures the imagination and keeps fans of the slime deeply invested. The writhing morass that creates this glorious blasphemy is multilayered and twisted, but really relies on a colossal bottom end. These guys have found the perfect guitar tone for the project, incredibly muddy and distorted, but distinct enough that fans of the genre aren't going to lose the stomping riffs in a wave of volume. It's a truly great balance struck between basement vibes and pro mixing.
Reincarnated have gone above and beyond on Of Boötes Void Death Spell. It's a record that proves just how exciting the vivid and skull cracking Thai scene is. This is an album that captures the imagination and leaves you wondering what twisted visions inspired this tormented offering and that is going to keep devotees coming back. Make no mistake, Reincarnated is one of those bands where once you become an acolyte you are a member of the cult for life. Expect big things to come from these bloodthirsty scene stalwarts.
