Deathcult - Seven Are They

Exactly what I needed for my Tuesday morning, a quick blast of Norwegian evil. Such is the power of the howling wind and the devilish magic of Deathcult. The band has found ways to unveil bitter darkness on their first release in 3 years. Featuring Hoest of Taake along with Thurzur and Skagg of Infernal Manes along countless other projects, this is a sort of Bergen supergroup. This record belies a deep understanding of the Bergen sound, which makes sense given these guys helped to create it. Seven Are They is monochromatic and terrifying. It's the sort of thing that leans into the wonderful twisted misery of the genre and leaves me begging for more. Hopefully a full length, which would mark the bands first in nearly a decade, is on the way.

Pre-order the album!
